As established last week, iMovie is a great tool to use in classroom instruction! From trailers to book reports to documentation of field trips, this software makes assignments engaging and fun for students. However, the basic video editing required to create these projects takes a bit of time to figure out.

This class, we were given a few minutes to grasp the basics of video editing on this software. I loved the variety of pre-set sound effects iMovie provides, and how easy is is to add audio to clips. The software is simple to understand, and it didn’t take me long to figure out how to add various transitions and effects to edit a video clip.

I had fun editing this short clip.  Playing around with the different effects made me feel confident that iMovie is a tool I can utilize with my  future students. Maybe next time I’ll incorporate a green screen!

I might not win an Oscar for video production, but I feel like I have a good understanding of the ins and outs of iMovie!

Until next time,
