My name is Katie Heaton and I am currently completing the second year of my BEd (Elementary Education) degree at the University of Victoria.
My educational philosophy is based on authenticity and adaptability. I am of the opinion that student’s individual interests should be made to flourish through education, through the use of authentic materials and lessons. In addition, I strive to adapt lessons and activities to each individual child as to best suit their strengths and weaknesses. Most importantly, however, I believe in the power of forming relationships with children. My number one goal is to connect to students in order to inspire and motivate their learning journey.
